By day, Cortex Man is Dr. Marcus Cortex, a quiet and humble teacher who works in a small psychology and neuroscience institute helping struggling students prepare for difficult exams like the EPPP. As a child, Marcus was fascinated by the mysteries of the human brain after watching his mother recover from a serious neurological illness. While other children dreamed of becoming athletes or movie stars, he spent hours reading old psychology books, studying medicine, drawing diagrams of neurons, and wondering why people think, feel, dream, fear, and love. Years later, after studying medicine, psychology, neuroscience, and human behavior across the world, Marcus uncovered a hidden experimental neural device buried beneath an abandoned research laboratory known only as “The Cortex Core.” During a violent electrical storm, the machine fused with his mind and nervous system, transforming him into Cortex Man, a superhuman guardian of knowledge whose powers grow stronger whenever he learns something new. Cortex Man possesses incredible strength, photographic memory, emotional insight, rapid learning abilities, and the power to enter symbolic “mind worlds” where fears, memories, trauma, and distorted thoughts appear as real physical environments. Rather than fighting ordinary villains, Cortex Man battles confusion, ignorance, fear, hopelessness, cognitive distortions, and psychological manipulation, helping people unlock their potential and strengthen their minds. His mission is not just to save the world, but to help humanity better understand itself.
